The Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center is a museum dedicated to the works of Charles M. Schulz, creator of the Peanuts comic strip. The museum opened on August 17, 2002, two years after Schulz died, and is in Santa Rosa, California. Schulz Museum Fans of the Peanuts Comic Strip head to Santa Rosa for a Bit of Nostalgia. For most people who grew up in the 60s, 70s and 80s, Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang are much more than characters in a daily comic strip or holiday TV special. Schulz drew some 18,000 strips in his lifetime, and the museum owns about 7,000.

When fires burned through parts of Northern California earlier this month, the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center was inside the part of Santa Rosa evacuated for the fires in Sonoma

Charles Schulz first moved to Sonoma County in 1958, and his studio sat on what became the site of this museum, which opened in 2002 2021-03-17 Meditating Snoopy. Sculpted this Snoopy as a demo while I was invited to be Guest Cartoonist at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. Later I took it home and shot it against a time-lapse of clouds to create this meditative video.
